James ("Jim") J. Chalfie specializes in the areas of estate and tax planning for individual clients, succession planning for small businesses, estate and trust administration, and litigation involving trusts, estates, fiduciaries, and guardianships.

Mr. Chalfie is admitted to practice in Ohio, and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and U.S. Supreme Court. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics from Brandeis University and received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law where he served on the Editorial Board of the Law Review.

Mr. Chalfie served as Chairperson of the Probate Court Committee and currently serves as an officer of the Estate Planning Probate and Trust Law Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association and is an active member of several professional groups and organizations. He is on the Board of Governors of the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Ohio State Bar Association. He co-authored an article, "How to Avoid Probate Litigation", in a national professional publication. He has participated in a number of times as a presenter at the Annual Estate Planning Institute of the Cincinnati Bar Association, and chaired its planning committee in 2009. He has also spoken frequently to various other professional and public groups on estate planning and probate related topics.

Mr. Chalfie has served on the boards of numerous charitable, philanthropic and civic organizations including Talbert House, where he served as President and a member of the Board of Trustees for over 40 years. Such service was recognized in 2005 by the receipt of the V.I.P. ("Volunteering is Phenomenal") Award by the Hamilton County Community Mental Health Board. He is also an active member of Cincinnatus.

Mr. Chalfie is board certified by the Ohio State Bar Association in the areas of estate planning, trusts and probate law and included among "Best Lawyers in America".
