Brian O’Connor practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation and general business law. Brian has both first and second chair trial experience, and has successfully briefed and argued cases in the courts of appeals.
Brian earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Kentucky and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. In 2009 and 2010, Brian served as the Lead Articles Editor for the Northern Kentucky Law Review. He also contributed to the publication of Stone and Bales's Teacher's Manual to Arbitration Law (2nd ed.), and Heinsz, Nolan, and Bales's Teacher's Manual to Accompany Cases and Materials on Labor Law: Collective Bargaining in a Free Society (6th ed.).
Brian is a lifelong resident of Northern Kentucky and is involved with numerous charitable organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Representative cases include:
- Defended local political subdivision, both at trial and at the appellate level, against time-barred claims brought by former employee.
- Lead counsel representing class of former employees alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act against their former employer.
- Prepared Supreme Court merit brief in case deciding the constitutionality of the medical malpractice statute of repose in Ohio.
- Obtained successful jury verdict representing former employee in a suit against former employer for wrongful discharge in violation of public policy.
